Rosey's Remarks
One cycle or iteration of a process is a project. A repeating project is a process. That said, the metamodel standard for project managers is the Project Management Institute's Project Managers Body of Knowledge (PMBOKĀ®).
This Process Triage™ Workflow Map illustrates two processes; Project and Program Management. Program management refers to the management activities associated with a portfolio of projects that draw from the same resource pools and supply chain.
Project Management Triage:
This workflow map illustrates what portfolio executive managers do.
1. Select any instance of a project and determine which Project Management deliverable the Project Manager is working on.
2. Look down stream from your project manager's current deliverable and determine if the Program Management workflow will supply everything this project needs to succeed.
3. Perform this triage exercise with your project manager standing shoulder-to-shoulder with you. |
